Keith Loren Vos was born January 30, 1951, to Cornie and Gladys Alyda (Vermeer) Vos, in Oskaloosa, Iowa. He passed away April 10, 2017, at Comfort House in Pella.
Keith graduated from Pella Christian High School in 1969. He lived in Leighton until June of 1972, when he married Ruth Diane Cochrane together they moved to Oskaloosa, where they welcomed two daughters: Pamela Kay and Issalena Marcella JoAnn. Keith was a member of the Air Force and later joined the Army National Guard.
Throughout his career, Keith farmed with his dad and brother until the mid 1970’s. He worked for Morrison Auto Body Shop, which he and his brother bought and subsequently closed in the late 1980’s. He later worked for Bender Foundry in Sigourney, the Clow Foundry in Oskaloosa, In’t Velds Meat Market in Pella, and then unfortunately due to his declining health he quit. He then took care of his aging parents until his mother’s death.
Keith enjoyed helping restore antique tractors and the Vos family tractor ride – an annual event started when his parents were still alive. The tradition continues today.
Those left to cherish his memory are his two daughters: Pam and Jon Klyn of Pella and their children Ethan John and Taylor Kay; Issalena and Wesley Van Weelden of New Sharon and their children Kylie Jo and Alexa Gail. He is also survived by his siblings: Sue De Bruin of Pella and Rick and Carolyn Vos of Pella, and his companion Christine Briggs
He was preceded in death by his parents Cornie and Gladys Vos, and brother-in-law Glen De Bruin.
