Nancy Carol See was born at her grandmother’s house near Pella, Iowa, on October 25, 1945, to Hubert and Norma (Schakel) Hollingshead. She grew up on a farm south of Knoxville. She graduated from Twin Cedars High School in 1963.
Nancy married Gary See on March 27, 1964, at the Methodist Church in Knoxville, Iowa. To this union, four daughters were born: Deb, Jody, Stacy, and Sheri.
Gary, Nancy, and their family moved to Pella in 1975. Nancy enjoyed time spent with family, especially her grandkids. She was looking forward to meeting her twin grandsons in June. She was a great cook and her family enjoyed sharing meals together. She also had many fun family vacations to Branson. For most of her life, Nancy worked as a cook at Central Park Café, the Pella Schools, and Hilltop Manor.
Nancy passed away in Pella, Iowa, on April 19, 2017, at the age of 71. Those left to cherish her memory are: her daughter Deb and Eric Randol of Pella, daughter Jody and Kim Ryan of Pella, daughter Stacy Van Gorp of Altoona, daughter Sheri and Justin Stursma of Pella; grandchildren Pete and Hannah Randol, Drew and Sarah Randol, Matt Kamerick and his children Kyra, Lainie, and Jude, Brooke Kane, Schyler Kane, Maddison Stursma, Evan Stursma, and Sydney Stursma. Nancy is also survived by her father Hubert Hollingshead of Knoxville, her siblings: Danny and Marlys Hollingshead of Tracy, Tish and Ron Cox of Knoxville, and Kathy Cassill of Tracy, and her brother-in-law David and Patty See of Albia.
Nancy was preceded in death by her husband Gary See, her mother Norma Hollingshead, her parents-in-law: Warren and Edna See, son-in-law Donald R. Kamerick, and by her brothers and sisters-in-law: Bob See, Barbara Berry, Correne Blomgren, Patty Colburn, Dennis See, and Joann Sizemore.
