Wilma Veldhuizen was born November 11, 1922, on the family farm west of Taintor, Iowa, to John and Johanna (Vande Hoef) Veldhuizen.  She passed away July 12, 2017, at Jefferson Place in Pella.

Wilma attended school at the Granville Country School near Taintor through eighth grade.  In her younger years, she worked at various places in Pella including the egg house and Rolscreen.  Later in life she helped in the food service department at the Sully School.  She lived on the family farm near Taintor most of her life, then she moved to Sully, and later she moved to Fair Haven, Hilltop and Jefferson Place.  Wilma enjoyed cleaning homes for others and considered this one of her hobbies.  She liked to play games such as bingo, dominoes and other card games.  She has always been an avid reader.

Wilma was baptized and a life-long member of Sully Reformed Church, where she was active with the Martha Circle and the Cottage prayer group

She will be remembered for her beautiful smile, and kind heart.  Wilma was a kind lady who loved and was loved by all.

Wilma was preceded in death by her parents, and her brothers and sisters: Jacob Veldhuizen, James Veldhuizen, Elsie Veldhuizen, Jeanette Veldhuizen, Harold Veldhuizen, Mabel Veldhuizen, Bessie Veldhuizen, Elmer Veldhuizen, and Irene Veldhuizen.
