They enjoyed traveling, making two trips to the Netherlands and one to Alaska, as well as to many other states. Most of all she cherished attending church services and Bible studies, and recently completed ten years of working with Crossroads Bible Institute. She and her sister, Cornelia, enjoyed playing their harmonicas together. John and Elizabeth moved to Fair Haven in Pella in 1997. John preceded her in death in 2001.
