On November 7, 1951 she was united in marriage with Joe Vander Beek at her parents home in Killduff. They were blessed with two children: Karen and Jerry. Anna Mae enjoyed her role as a housewife and helping on the farm. Anna Mae and Joe lived in the Lynnville area prior to moving to Sully in 1972. In 2010 they moved to Pella and resided at the Pella Manor.
Anna Mae was a member of the Sully Christian Reformed Church. She was also a member of the Christian School Circle, Ruth Circle, and the Gideon's Auxiliary.
