John Evan Pace, Jr. was born on February 2, 1928, the son of John, Sr. and Gladys Fern (Scott) Pace in Poplar Bluff, Missouri.

John "Jack" was a graduate of Western Michigan University in Kalamazoo, Michigan, where he earned his B. A. and M.A. degrees in 1958 and 1964. He was a proud Life Member of the Western Michigan Alumni Association. He retired in 1982 after 18 years of employment at the Southeast Missouri Mental Health Center in Farmington, Missouri, where he was a clinical psychologist. Jack also served with the United States Air Force during the Korean War and was a member of the American Legion. Jack had been a resident of Pella, Iowa, since December of 1998.

Jack was preceded in death by his parents and an infant sister, Patricia Joan Pace, who died in 1930. He is survived by several first cousins residing in Iowa, Missouri, and Texas.Family graveside services will be held at a later date in Fisk, Missouri.
