Ronald Vander Linden Obituary

Ronald Jay Vander Linden was born November 5, 1946, to Henry and Irene (De Jong) Vander Linden, in Oskaloosa, Iowa.

Ron lived in the Peoria area his entire life and attended Peoria Christian Grade School, and Pella Christian High School.

Ron served in the U.S. Army in Germany, where he was an auto mechanic. When he returned home, he continued working as an auto mechanic as well as many other jobs in the industry. In 1972, he was united in marriage to Midge Buchanan. To this union they were blessed with a son Curtis.

Ron was a member of many churches, most recently First Baptist Church, where he was a van driver.

Ron was President of Resurrected Tin, where he spent many years organizing events for hotrods and cruising. He was always lending a hand, especially with cars. Ron also enjoyed building model railroads and watching trains with his son. His son Curt was the pride of his life and Ron was the world’s best dad.

Those left to cherish his memory are his wife Midge, and their son Curt Vander Linden. He is also survived by his siblings: Ruth (Gerrit)  Bosch of Kalamazoo, Michigan, and Greg Vander Linden of Green Valley, Arizona.

Ron was preceded in death by his parents Henry and Irene Vander Linden and his brother Carl (Phyllis) Vander Linden.
